Who We Are

MTRI is a non-profit co-operative with a mandate to promote, conserve and sustain biodiversity in Kespukwitk (southwestern Nova Scotia) and beyond. Our vision is prosperous communities where forests and aquatic ecosystems are healthy, connected and where species are not at risk.

We would like to acknowledge that MTRI is based in Kespukwitk, one of the seven districts of Mi’kma’ki, homeland of the Mi’kmaw people. We acknowledge the treaties of peace and friendship and we thank the Mi’kmaw people for their generosity in sharing their homeland with us.
